Reality Curse - No Time For Talking

  1. Nice one. Great idea for the wife to make her husband the other woman but in a good way. If you can make being cursed fun, go for it.

  2. Fred and Nick are endgame. It’s becoming increasingly obvious.

The first caption of the series is of them. Many stories introduce the couple the writers want the audience to root for before the story introduces other characters and situations that will serve as roadblocks to the couple’s happy ending. And the initial caption sneakily setting up the emotional stakes. It seemed to suggest that Fred’s feelings are one-sided. Which would be a definite roadblock. However, we know from the previous three captions that Nick is definitely feeling it too. Meaning that Nick’s frustration in the first caption might have been triggered by envy/jealousy.

And in this caption we learn that Fred being married might not be a roadblock. It starts with Fred getting dressed after having sex with his wife. So, by having sex with his wife as a woman, he’s trying to restore a sense of normality after the previous captions. It makes sense. He did indulge her fantasy of being a man before. The situation takes a turn for the worse when he tries to start a conversation about “things have become pretty weird lately.” It’s obvious he wants to talk to her about the situation between him and their son. She says she’d “really love to talk about it.” But it’s obvious she doesn’t really care about his concerns and it it just leads into the revelation that she is a married man with Fred as the other woman. She even mentioned that they “already had the normal married couple fantasy.”

Fred’s wife just wants to indulge her fantasies without any real regard to his feelings about the matter. Fred’s son Nick just wants Fred to be his girlfriend Peyton and hasn’t tricked Fred into anything. It’s pretty obvious who deserves to be with Fred.

    1. I really, really love the amount of thoughts you're putting into this series. It really means a lot to me to seeing people coming up with theories about Fred and Nick and Lisa.
But! Don't be too sure about your theory. Because I may have got a few things planned for them that might turn your theory upside-down ;)

    2. Interesting. Upside-down?

Okay. I have three speculations based on my theory being turned upside-down. :)

      1) Lisa somehow discovered that Nick’s girlfriend Peyton is really Fred. Maybe Nick confessed about the awkwardness or she discovered a journal that Nick wrote about his inner turmoil. She wants her son to be happy, even at the cost of her own marriage. Maybe she even thinks that Fred will be happier as Peyton. She knows that Fred as Peyton will love Nick more than Fred could have ever loved her. (This idea is based on something Ryan Reynolds said about using his wife, Blake Lively, as a human shield to protect their baby. Take that basic sentiment and then add in sexual attraction.). So, she’s making Fred upset in order for him to eventually become Peyton permanently.

      2) As above, but Lisa and Nick are actually working together.

      3) (This is rewrite of a previous comment of mine.) Nick enjoys having sex with him being a woman and Lisa as a man AND is also falling in love with Nick. Easy fix. His wife and son make a plan for the future where they BOTH touch Fred at the same time. Lisa turns turns into a man the same age as Nick,Nick stays the same, and Fred turns into Peyton. So Fred as Peyton is a girlfriend to both of them. And if the curse can give them immortality, they can stay together forever.

  4. Actually, now that I read it again, I think the "being the other woman fantasy" gives Fred a chance to get the sexual tension out of his system without being "awkward" with Nick. So maybe the curse recognizes Fred's fantasies as well?
For all Lisa knows, Fred is having sex with other men that she doesn't hear about. He alluded to the guy with the foot fetish that didn't want to explain what happened. While Fred is forced to satisfy the fantasies of men, she is left home alone, for days at a time, wondering when it will all end and what will her family look like when it is done. She doesn't know that sometimes Nick is with Fred when she thinks he is with Peyton. Fred and Nick agreed to not mention it to her.
I really don't think Lisa is being selfish, I think she's being practical. she wants to be with her husband but she has to be the man in order for that to happen. She's looking for new experiences that include Fred. Maybe she tried wishing for another "regular couple fantasy" and nothing happened?

Fred and Lisa are adults with more self-control than a teenage boy with a hot girlfriend. Fred has discovered that his libido is similar to that of a teenage girl when he is Peyton. If Nick inadvertently (or otherwise) fantasizes about spending the night with Peyton, it may go WAY beyond awkward.

    1. I responded to crestf with more speculations which include some alternate theories as to why she’s responding the why she is.

But I wanted to specifically respond to your last paragraph. What if Nick and Fred/Peyton spend the night with each other...and it’s NOT awkward? It’s only becomes awkward because it’s NOT. They FEEL it should be awkward...and it ISN’T.

    2. Can I just say that you are going to LOVE what I've planned for all of them? ;)

It seems that you cannot reply directly to another reply. But if you just reply to this thread I'm gonna read it nonetheless :D

  5. Crestif, really great series. I love how Lisa is helping Fred by using him to live out her fantasies. Each fantasy might push the boundaries a little. lol

I think in each fantasy, the magic is compelling Fred to behave the way his body and his "role" dictates. I suppose that is way it's a curse.

It seems like it would almost be inevitable for Fred to check in on Nick one night while Nick is sleeping. He sees Nick caught up in a dream and think's it's cute only to have the curse kick in. In the dream Nick is having sex for the first time with his girlfriend, "Peyton" who is loving every second of it.

    1. @Zapper, I've thought about the same scenario. Nick has been affected greatly by this curse, he was a mother of a teenage girl for a time. His father is showing up in his girlfriend's body. He can't talk to his mother about it since his father asked him not to. Assuming he has kept that promise(?)

Imagine the conversation. "Mom, sometimes when I'm studying with Peyton, it's really Dad under the curse but he doesn't want me to say anything. Mom, I'm having a hard time dealing with my girlfriend being my father sometimes."

      Delete
    2. Yup, that would be one difficult conversation. lol - Or even better, "Mom, there is something I need to tell you. My girlfriend, Peyton, who is really dad, is pregnant."

Nick's dream was about having sex for the first time, but the curse is on Fred, not the unborn baby, so Fred is now locked into Peyton's body until she gives birth.

    3. Ooh! Zapper I like that. Came up with a variation:

Another possible twist to Fred/Peyton being pregnant is that Nick doesn’t know and Peyton runs to Lisa for advice. Lisa talks to Peyton and tests her by hinting at the possibility that Peyton might get an abortion. Peyton just breaks down and says that she’s scared but she could NEVER do that her baby...especially because it’s Nick’s baby.

That’s when Lisa comes clean and admits that she knows Fred is Peyton. She might even have divorce papers drawn ready so that she and Fred can have an emotionally clean break and Peyton can marry Nick. Peyton quickly grabs a pen and signs Fred’s name. Her choice has been made...because it was no choice at all.

  6. One thing I think we might see come up is Lisa researching the scroll and getting a more detailed translation. Maybe it makes things better, maybe it makes things worse. Maybe she sees a way to end the curse but decide to have some fun with it first. Fred may spend more time as a sexy woman with a stud for a lover.

    1. It would be fun to see Lisa and Fred learn more about the curse, particularly if Lisa starts to take charge more and more. Assuming a more masculine role in the relationship and putting Fred through his paces, every time the curse kicks in, by making him a sexy woman satisfying her new male needs.
