While the theme of the party was “random body swaps,” Cody’s swap with his sister and the person who swapped his sister’s husband were definitely NOT random.
Zoey wanted out of her marriage because he was a bore. One of Cody’s many family members (either parent, cousin, uncle, aunt, or whatnot) desired Cody but was hurting because of the societal stigma of those feelings. And yet another family member inexplicably had a crush on the husband BECAUSE he was a complete bore.
Soon, Cody learned all of this…but not before triggering a special addition to the spell that locked him in his sister’s body. Triggering it several times before learning, actually. He also learned about the true identity of his lover. He freaked out a bit, but he came to realize that this is for the best solution for three reasons.
The first was his sister is happily out of a somewhat mediocre marriage in which she stayed only due to her now EX-husband’s handsomeness, physique and sexual stamina require no magical enchantment. The second is that the family member who had loved him for years was is longer in agony. The third is that the magical lock that keeps Cody in Zoey’s body is only SEMI-permanent and will need constant “triggering.”
