What Ricky’s mom didn’t know was that this was all part of Ricky and Cody’s plan. Cody swapping with the woman was an accident. But Ricky and Cody knew that if Ricky waited to attempt the spell until Ricky’s mom got back, Ricky’s mom would panic and try to stop Ricky…which would lead to Ricky being swapped his mom.
And Ricky would “accidentally” set the spellbook on fire while making it look like it had been the mom.
This would leave Ricky’s mom to believe she had created the problem. Which would also allow Ricky to guilt trip his mom fake sobs…and then later appear as “mature” and “reasonable” by saying that since the spellbook is destroyed that they must accept that they will need to act like each other in every way possible.
In EVERY way possible. Ricky would SAY it’s such a burden to be a mom and a wife, but Ricky would tell his mom that he would take on all of these roles because those are the roles Ricky’s mom fulfilled. And now he MUST do it.
