It seems like they could control the swaps now that they figured out it happens while sleeping and only if staying on the site.
Just have everyone get hotel rooms and then two people at a time sleep in the house (ie- Steve, now in his Dad's body and whoever is in Steve's body stay the night. They swap and now Steve is in his original body. He then stays in the hotel and the next pair spend the night). That way they control the swap.
It might take a few nights but they could get everyone switched back.
Of course that assumes that the magic of the ancient land cooperates. lol They could turn the project into a swap resort if they figured out how to take advantage of it.
